LDAP is an industry-standard protocol established by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that allows users to query and update information in a directory service. Active Directory supports both LDAP version 2 and LDAP version 3. lightweight pooling (n)~ An option that provides a means of reducing the system overhead associated with the excessive context switching sometimes seen in symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) environments by performing the context switching inline thus helping to reduce user/kernel ring transitions.
